Solo (not solo) Water Study

Sonja Boretski (she/her) works with movement as a dance artist and therapeutic Pilates instructor. She is a graduate of the Quinte Ballet School of Canada and The School of Toronto Dance Theatre. With improvisation at the forefront of her practice, her approach to movement stems from a heightened sensitivity to the body, and all of the layers, textures and stories it holds. Sonja has worked as a dance artist with Toronto Dance Theatre, Peggy Baker Dance Projects, ProArteDanza, Marie Lambin, Krista Newey and Naishi Wang, to name a few. She performed a remounted work Solo (not solo) Water Study Choreographed by Meryem Alaoui alongside musician Germaine Liu for dance:made in Canada’s 2023 Main Stage series, and is excited to be sharing this work at FODAR 2024.
