Maria Osende is a multi-disciplinary dancer, teacher, and choreographer whose work is rooted in flamenco, although her background includes ballet and contemporary dance. Since 2008, she has been the director of Atlantic Flamenco and the Flamenco and Ballet Dance School Maria Osende in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She previously danced as a soloist with the Berlin Ballet in Germany and the National Ballet of Spain in Madrid. Her innovative approach seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary elements, captivating audiences with her emotional intensity and authenticity. Through her work as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and mentor, she continues to inspire and nurture a deep appreciation for flamenco, sharing her passion through performances and teaching.
