Dancing the Third Act
Launched in 2013 in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, The Company of Angels was formed under the direction of celebrated Canadian choreographer Randy Glynn. Glynn built the company on 12 seniors, ages 60 to 75, all untrained in dance. He worked with the “Angels” over several months to create a piece that would reflect the life experience of his dancers, taking into account their various physical abilities and challenges.
Dancing in the Third Act made its debut at King’s Theatre Annapolis Royal on August 23, 2013. The work and its dancers were quickly acclaimed by both critics and audiences and the Company went on to tour the production at other Canadian dance festivals. The Company of Angels repertoire also includes Teen Angel and Lighted Rooms.
