Michèle Slattery (she/her) is a graduate of the Contemporary Dance Program at Concordia University. During her time there, she worked for Festival Bouge D’ici and completed her first full independent choreographic work as part of The Griffintown Project. Since returning to Nova Scotia she has created choreographic work including Who>? which premiered in Votive Dance’s Main Stage production in May 2017 and Alone Place presented by Kinetic Studio in March 2019.
Michèle’s work as an interpreter has focused primarily on Contemporary and Jazz dance as seen in Votive Dance’s What We Want (2016) and the 2018 Homeplace premiere (both choreographed by Kathleen Doherty) and the co-created Love You Madly (2019 – Kathleen Doherty and Kendra Macleod). Recently Michèle has been seen reacquainting herself with her first love – tap dance, as well as working on a new collaboration, entitled Deep Dive, with multidisciplinary artist Benoit Gravel.
