Jacinte Armstrong is an artist based in K’jipuktuk/Halifax, NS. She is Artistic Director and co-founder of SiNS (Sometimes in Nova Scotia) dance, performs regularly with Mocean Dance, and from 2014-18 she was Artistic Director of Kinetic Studio, presenting an annual season of contemporary dance workshops and performances in Nova Scotia. In 2016, she was awarded an Established Artist Recognition Award, and a Masterworks Award for her work in Mocean Dance’s Canvas 5×5 choreographed by Tedd Robinson. In 2020 Jacinte received her MFA in Performance from NSCAD University.

Her recent project, VERSION 2.0, in collaboration with architect James Forren, combines dance with Augmented Reality technology and has been developed through residencies with the Light Moves Festival and Dance Ireland in Limerick and Dublin, Ireland. Jacinte’s newest performance work PLAY, which brings together dance, visual art, and audience participation, will be presented in fall 2023, by Mocean Dance in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
